Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston Businesses Featured in PBS Series!
Earlier this spring, Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston joined a growing list of Oregon communities with the distinct honor of being featured on All Across Oregon , a unique food and travel series featured on PBS. The series follows the adventures of New York native and owner of Vinny’s Italian Kitchen in Medford, Chef Vinny DiCostanzo . In the series, now in its 3rd season, DiCostanzo highlights the interesting people, the stories, the delicious food, and the unique experiences that one can only encounter in Oregon.
It was an honor to have Chef Vinny DiCostanzo and his crew visit our area and experience some of the best food and adventures on Oregon’s Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston. In Season 3, Episode 2- DiCostanzo stops by Vinny’s Smokin' Good Burgers & Sandwiches in North Bend, where owner Vinny Catanzaro (yes, similar name, different person) treated host Vinny DiCostanzo to “Loaded Mac-N-Cheese” along with their popular dish, “The Godfather” - a decadent beast of a burger with a double beef patty burger topped with sauteed mushrooms, onions, cheese, pulled pork and all kinds of smokin' good flavors.
Later in the day, DiCostanzo heads to Box Car Hill Campground | Atv Rental Services in North Bend to chat with owner Todd Goergen after embarking on a thrilling sand rail ride (at speeds up to 75 mph!) in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area with professional Sand Rail Driver, Richard Emery. He later heads to Coos Bay to visit our friends at the Coos History Museum . Executive Director Heather Christenbury and Board Member, historian Steven Greif, share a wealth of knowledge about the richly diverse culture in Coos County as they guide DiCostanzo on an unforgettable tour. The host was genuinely impressed with the museum’s unique features and exhibits that demonstrate the significant impact our community has had on the Pacific Northwest throughout history.
Before packing up and heading home, DiCostanzo gets one last call from Vinny Catanzaro who insists on sending him home with a massive burrito from his other restaurant, Yaya’s Burrito & Bowls . You can’t let a fellow restaurateur leave hungry! We’re so happy to see these visitors enjoy their time in Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston, and look forward to seeing them again soon!
