“Trash Fish” Art Exhibit
South Slough Reserve Interpretive Center Presents:
Elizabeth Roberts’ Art Opening and Exhibition, Saturday, March 3 from 1-3 pm. Show runs through end of April.
Elizabeth uses her art to highlight the connection between plastic, the food we eat and how our consumer habits are contributing to more than 80 million tons of trash entering our oceans every year. Her work explores how fish mistake plastic for food and how plastic is becoming more prevalent in our food web. The phrase “you are what you eat” has never been more relevant. At current levels of plastic consumption globally, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by the year 2050.
